A while back I banned a member from out of state for sending requests to members for MJ help. I knew this problem would arise when I opened Cannabis Compassion to out of state members who see how rich we are with medicne. Why did I even open the site to non OMMP patients?

I did it to demonstrate to others how a patients site should be run. I did it also to teach people from other MMJ states how to organize and create a helping community. I did it to encourage individuals to get involved in the process which governs this country. I want to grow activists all over the USA and all the world. I want to change things. I did not start this site as a place to ask members to break state and federal laws.

The only members who may legally possess MJ are card holders registered with the OMMP. These are patients, growers, and caregivers. ONLY this group may possess MMJ in Oregon. It is illegal to sell or give MMJ away to anyone, not with an OMMP card. This site has several membership groups - the only groups with OMMP cards are the Private Members and Senior Members. All others do not have an OMMP card, but some have paperwork which makes them legal to help in person. I help such as many others do as well; we just require the actual OMMP card to become a private member. Most, without cards, are listed as Members or Active Members - they may be from anywhere. I invited these not carded members here to learn to be self sufficient. We teach so much: growing, activism, MMJ research, news, etc.

Let me clarify the rules of membership. Anyone who uses this site to request MJ be given or sent illegally will be banned. If you do not have an OMMP card it is illegal to be given MMJ. The one giving help, in this case, could be arrested and prosecuted. It is illegal to mail or send MJ through public carriers. UPS, FEDEX, USPS, etc are illegal to use to ship MJ. Any movement of MJ across a state line is a federal offense.

I will not allow anyone to tempt members to break state or federal laws. There will not be any more warnings.

I suggest out of state members, move to Oregon, bringing their medical records which establish a diagnosis which is treatable with MMJ. Once you get your OMMP card, I and others will help you get started being self sufficent. We nurse babies while they learn.

I just wanted to say thank you for this site, and the way you manage it. People using (abusing) the OMMP program don't realize how much of a pilot program this is, and how the NEGATIVE consequences will have an effect on the medical community for years to come. This sites moderator is wise to keep everything legal. Press reports of patients selling MJ to non-patients is what could destroy everything Oregon has worked towards creating with this program. Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work. Jon

I wish I were a nice person, but I am not. I will inforce the rules.

I agree with you about how fragile our cards can be. We have enemies such as Harmon et al who keep trying to dismantle our OMMP program. If OMMP patients abuse the system - it would hurt us all. Bad press is what we do not want.

So Jon, thanks for finding this again. The best thing is to keep money and MMJ far apart. The is a medicine that can be grown by the patient - we need this as we are mostly poor and could not find our meds in a dispensary.

I must say that there has been very little rule breaking here. The members police themselves for the most part. It takes a community like this to prove the effectiveness of MMJ and that it is not all about greed and money.

I am a baby being nursed. I support Clinton protecting our community by enforcing the laws that allow us to live in peace without fear of WW2 type visitors to our doors. My Grandma in Belgium dealt with that one already.

Because there are soild folks out there moving 3000 miles across the country to have the same medial privilage as you and your family... This site is a wondeful resource for none members or out of state folks moving in a positive direction... Thank you doing what you are doing... There is always going to be someone trying to take advantage of any situation...

You have my full support, clinton. Very sad to remember that we swim mostly in the shallow end of the gene pool. That is the end with the drain that sucks.

I must poke my nose in here.

Clinton, I know whereof you speak.

People do not realize that the owner of any site, whoever that is,

in my case, with GreenPassion, it is myself,

ARE culpable under the law for any dealings of members of a forum.

What this means on Greenpassion is any member selling, giveing or trading

in any way, is involving the owner of the site for owning the site.

This is tatamount to traficking in an illegal (in some cases) or controlled substance.

This is why it is such a firm rule.

You have a wonderful example here of what a site like this can be, as far as

community, and sharing information and helping each other.

And Clinton, I honour you.

Peace

Life,
